My Sneak Peek at Eagle Point Resort, Mabini, Batangas

It's been a while since I step my foot on the shores of Mabini, Batangas. Being a BatangueƱo, we are blessed with beaches within our reach, and it's fun exploring them. Mabini is famous not for fine sands but for its coral reefs, fancy hotel and resorts.

Eagle Point is one of those great Hotels and Resorts in Anilao, Mabini. The area is pretty sizeable, good for afternoon walks and sight seeing, plus other amenities that won't disappoint.

To go here via public transport:
1. From manila, go to buendia. There are plenty of buses around LRT Gil Puyat Station - RRCG, JAM, DLTB, Ceres, etc. The fare is around P157, sometimes P125 for RRCG and DLTB.
2. Arrive at Batangas Public Terminal
3. At the terminal, there are jeepneys going to Mabini, drop off at Anilao.
4. Hire a tricycle to transport you to your target resort
For Eagle point, there is a drop off place. And from there, their private jeepneys take over.

Here's a map:

Driving to the resorts here requires great skills, and absolutely not for newbie drivers. The roads are plenty of ups and downs, narrow paths, sharp curves and high angle of inclines. Maybe, this would be exciting for those seasoned drivers out there. Anyway, it's exciting on my part. So be sure your vehicle is checked and well maintained before you go here.

Since we have a program of activities upon going here, we were not able to dive. Rather, we have fun roaming around the place with its pristine view and fresh air, swimming in the pools and performing our group activities.

We stayed at one of the rooms in the Terrace Hotel. We also saw some other rooms and overall, they are lovely. They are well decorated, neat and furnished. A flat screen TV with cable is present in our room, closets, mini ref, A/C and other standard things you might expect. The bathroom is good, stocked with those toiletries you need, clean and spacious. Hot/Cold shower is available. Below is a snapshot, sorry for the cluttered bags. Hehe.

A map is provided also so you won't waste your time climbing and searching for your destination.

As you can see above, there are two big pools and one kiddie pool. There is also a salt water reef pool for snorkeling and maybe diving training. Baby sharks are said to be present there together with some school of fish and turtles.

You can't go swimming at the beach here. In lieu, you can go to their private beach resort in another island called Sepoc Beach Center by hiring a boat for around P2,200. The boats are big and equipped with life jackets, just like those that travels to P.Galera. After around 20-30 minutes of conquering the waves, you'll arrive with the scenic sepoc island.

We also did our activities and games here, including kayaking. The place is panoramic. There are caves on that left side that you can rest at when paddling with your kayaks or just swimming. There is also a short trek to the right. You can relax and chill all day here, snorkeling or just enjoying the view.

Overall, the experience was great, even for non-divers. The amenities are there to make your stay worth it and the staffs are pleasant too. Though the cost are a bit pricey, it's definitely worth trying again sometime. I am looking forward to try the spectacular diving experience.
