Hearthstone For iOS and Android Phones, Now Official!

Yesterday, or just a while in our time zone, Blizzard has announced a new update enabling you to play Hearthstone on iOS and Android phones. That's after quite some time the game was made available on iPad April last year and on Android tablets last December. But finally, the wait is over!

In case you haven't played it yet, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, is a fun, addictive virtual card game that may be similar to Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering. If you're familiar with Warcraft and DotA, you'll be familiar with the characters of this game. It requires a lot of strategic skills, some luck and logic, but very entertaining and enjoyable at the same time. You have a deck that you can build and design depending on your fighting style -- be it defensive, aggressive, balanced, etc. With this deck, you can battle AI opponents, beat the solo adventures and play with other players around the world. This was the first game of this kind I have played and I was immediately hooked to it.

Hearthstone was originally played only on PC but was ported to iPads and Android tablets (6 inches above) last year. This made it more playable because you can carry it around unlike with PC's. But with this update, Blizzard has made the game more accessible as we can finally carry it inside our pockets and play with our decks almost everywhere we want to.  I also tried the unofficial apk's and obb's out there so I can play it on my droid but it takes a lot of time to update it. Being it at the palms of our hands, the developers have to tweak the graphics in order for us to have a great experience even on small-screen phones.

Apart from the visual aspects of the game, some actions was modified for gaming comfort. For seasoned players, you can see new adjustments such as tap to zoom. The cards are now positioned on the right of your screen. To zoom, just tap it and the cards on your hand will be spread, bigger at the bottom, so you can read the descriptions easier.

For new players, there's a tutorial you can enjoy and before you know it, you're addicted to it more than clashing-with-other-kingdoms. If you wanna dare to try it, put your game face on and download the 600mb+ game file (which is worthy of every byte). There's no news yet for Windows Phone OS but for now, here's the Playstore and iOS links.

Dota 2 The International 5 Schedule Announced

One of the most prestigious online tournament, The International 2015 Dota 2 Championships, has again ring the bells as Valve announces the dates and venue of the event.

Dota 2 the international

The 5th year of The International will happen almost a year after the previous one. The inclusive days are from August 3, Monday through August 8, Saturday. TI 5 battleground would be on Seattle once again which will include 16 professional teams from around the globe.

Last year, The International 4 has set a jaw-dropping record as the prize pool reached $10,700,000. That's the biggest prize ever on e-Sports history, beating the TI3 record of $2,800,000. As the bar was raised on the previous TI, many will be looking forward on how much the price will be this year. There are massive number of players joining the dota 2 bandwagon every month as seen on their website. If the trend keeps its pace, we will be looking at an eight-digit reward again. And the champions will take home almost half of it!

Further details on the tournament will be announced on the Dota 2 blog soon. We're looking forward to see the new line-ups and great battles on this year's Dota 2 Championships.

Swing Copters Now Available, Harder Than Flappy Bird?

After the great success of Flappy Bird, its creator has launched Swing Copters, another frustrating but entertaining game. It's now available for Appstore and Google Play.

Many of us might have experienced the frustration and at the same time, fun, brought about by the popular game, Flappy Bird. After Dong Nguyen, it's creator, took the game out and became silent for a while, here comes his new masterpiece: Swing Copters.

Basically a guy with a propeller on its head aims to cross the swinging hammers and ascend endlessly. From the horizontal-moving flapping bird, this new game now  adapts vertical orientation in the same simple, pixelated graphics.

I admit it, I can't still pass the zero score after playing for several minutes. It's harder than Flappy Bird, in my opinion. After pressing the screen as a sign you're ready, it will fly and change direction when you tap. That's the only control you have, so no need to sway your phone left to right, okay?

I tried searching it on Google Play, but it won't come out on search results for now. And there's plenty of copy cats already getting download shares. So be careful on what you download. Here are the download links so you can just click and install.

Ragnarok Online 2 Launching In The Philippines On July 17

Ragnarok 2 Coming To The Philippines

Ragnarok 2 has finally opens its door, to the gamers from the Philippines, bringing nostalgia once more for Ragnarok Online fans out there. The long wait is now over for the Filipino players to enter the kingdom of Ragnarok once again, officially. I said officially because many have already sneaked-in to this game with the help of VPN, WTFast, etc, just to join the fun and break the curiosity on what Ragnarok 2 can bring.

I also glanced before and even reached Level 50, the maximum level at that time. I met other Filipino players online, but since logging in was not easy, only a few have stayed. Overall, it was fun with its Colloseum (PVP), Dungeons and Baphomet raids around, but there was a point when we experienced stagnation because of a very hard dungeon. In this new opportunity, I hope those issues were resolved so that pinoy gamers will enjoy on their journey.

WarpPortal have set some events in-game to welcome the Filipino community and aid them on levelling up for their upcoming adventure.

The said in-game events include:

  • Pre-register and win! - Welcome gifts plus additional rewards based on the number of people who will pre-register
  • Register for a Cocka-Racer - All who will register before Aug.14 will receive a mount (Cocka-Racer) valid for 30 days
  • Rally Your Allies and Win! - Awards will be given to those who will be inviting their friends, plus rewards for all depending on the number of Official Facebook Page Likes
  • Play to Earn PowerUp Boxes! - 10 hrs of game time a week will give you a power-up box (July 17 - August 14)
  • Level Up for a Large Bag! - when you reach level 25, your character will qualify for one Large Bag (July 17 - August 14)
  • Elite Players Only - at least 100 hours of play time a week, you will earn one, free Elite Membership Card valid for 30days (July 17 - August 14)
If you already have a warp portal account using Ragnarok 2, you would have to make one again. Only accounts who will pre-register will be eligible for these rewards. The server is not exclusive for PH players, and based on what I've read, Filipino players will be joining the Odin server.
