Going back, updating your device Over-The-Air (OTA) may be a bit hassle for the following reasons:
  1. Slow/intermittent internet connection
  2. Not enough space or storage
For the first entry, you do need to have stable internet connection for a smooth updating. If not, you may face an error occurred downloading OS or the progress bar stops moving. So, be sure to have a steady connection, and that's commonly found at home. :)

If you're facing the problem with not having enough space in order to update, you may erase those big files on your device first or back up them then download, then apply. Otherwise, the best solution is to use your iTunes. Update your iTunes to the latest version and click Check for Update on the Summary.

Also, be sure to upgrade not when your battery is low. And avoid downloading other items simultaneously with the update if you're doing it OTA. Enjoy.
