Samsung has announced the Galaxy s5 mini, first of July. Many smartphone makers have ventured to releasing toned-down version of their popular flagships to reach a wider market for its more affordable price.
The S5 mini packs a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Screen at 720x1280 resolution, a little bit big for a mini version. Under the hood are the quad-core processor running at 1.4GHz, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal phone storage expandable up to 64GB. For shooting needs, it has an 8MP rear cam and 2.1MP front cam.
What about the innovative features of the flagship, Samsung Galaxy S5? The sensors are present as well as most of the software features. The heart-rate monitor is there along with the fingerprint scanner. It is also dust and water resistant as it holds IP67 certification. The Infrared port is also there. With these specs, there is a close battle with the earlier released, Xperia Z1 Compact Mini. But they have their key points on their own.
No words still on when this device will be available in the Philippines. Samsung announced this will come in Russia first before going global. It will show up in four colors: white, black, blue and gold.
